Judy Lovelace

SHELBY: Judy Morehead Lovelace, was reunited with her loving husband on June 18, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on September 20, 1946, in Cleveland County, North Carolina, Judy was the beloved daughter of the late Harvey Morehead Sr. and Lillie Warlick Morehead.

Judy was a devoted wife to her late husband, Jimmy Lovelace Sr., with whom she shared 57 years full of love and cherished memories. As a mother, she was known unwavering dedication to her children, Jimmy Lovelace Jr. and his wife, Julie, and Joel Lovelace and his wife, Rhonda. Her loving nature extended to her role as a doting grandmother to her granddaughters, Alexa Lovelace and Alana Lovelace, who brought immense joy to her life.

She was also a dear sister to Linda Morehead and Brenda Thronburg, and a cherished sister-in-law to Ann Holland. Preceded in death by her brother, Harvey Morehead Jr., Judy's memory will forever be honored by her family and friends.

Judy's professional life was marked by her service as a Secretary at Sandy Plains Baptist Church, where she was also a dedicated member. Her faith and commitment to her community were evident in all aspects of her life.

A woman of varied interests, Judy found great enjoyment in reading true fiction and murder mysteries, engaging in puzzles and games, and caring for her beloved cats. Her gentle spirit and compassionate nature touched all who knew her.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Judy’s life at a visitation and memorial service to be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Sandy Plains Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., followed by the memorial service at 11 a.m.

Judy Morehead Lovelace will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and the love she shared with those around her. She leaves behind a legacy of devotion and love that will continue to inspire her family and friends.
