Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory - GalesburgJudy Lea Lynn, 80, of Gilson, Illinois, passed at 11:41 a.m. Saturday, October 18, 2025 at her home.
She was born July 13, 1945 in Oakford, Illinois, the daughter of Jody Carroll Adkins, Sr. and Gladys Helen (Holmes Miller) Davis. Judy married Terry Dean Lynn on May 27, 1967 in Bath, Illinois. He preceded her in death on June 9, 2015.
Left to cherish her memory is one son, David (Pam) Lynn of Williamsfield, Illinois; two daughters, Sherri (Scott) Lynn of Vienna, Illinois, and Helen (John) Moore of Galesburg. Also surviving are nine grandchildren: Mikayla (Wyatt) Maze, William (Brittany) Stokes, Timmy (Maddy) Lynn, Lizzy Lynn, Taylor Lynn, Abby Moore, Mary Moore, Matthew Moore, and Lillian Moore; four great grandchildren, Avayah, Dolly, Zamir, and Owen; three brothers: Bobby Adkins, Jody Adkins, and Ray (Marsha) Adkins; and two sisters, Roberta (Neil) Lowe and Rosemary John. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 48 years, Terry; and two brothers, Gary Adkins and Arlie Adkins.
Judy worked as a customer care specialist for LG Seeds for about 29 years before retiring in 2019. She enjoyed doing puzzles, reading, and tending to her flowers. Judy loved to feed birds and watch for hummingbirds. She also enjoyed her annual visit to a ranch in Nebraska to spend time with friends. Judy spent many hours rocking in her chair on the front porch making memories with family.
Cremation will be accorded. A memorial service will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. A celebration of life will immediately follow at the Thomas Legacy Center at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory. Memorial contributions may be made to the Freedom Paws Service Dogs Foundation (www.freedompawsservicedogs.org), This Able Veteran (www.thisableveteran.org), or the Ron & Vicki Santo Dog Foundation (https://www.ronsantofoundation.com/).
