Judy Ann Medlin, 70, of Stanfield, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, November 28, 2024.
Judy was born January 1, 1954 in Albemarle to the late Roy Lee Blackwelder and Shirley Ann Morgan. In addition to her father, Judy was also preceded in death by her husband, Terry Lee Medlin; daughter, Crystal LeeAnn Medlin; maternal grandmother, Ruby Morgan; and step-father, Floyd Smith.
Judy devoted her life to taking care of Crystal for 42 years. She was always very selfless and had such a big open heart and home, always collecting "family." She loved people. Judy enjoyed spending time with her family at the beach. She was colorful and unique. She also loved dancing and sitting on her front porch swing. Most of all, Judy loved Jesus and her church family at Friendship Baptist Church in Stanfield.
Survivors include her mother, Shirley Morgan Shepard of Stanfield; "daughter," Debra Wilson of Stanfield; "son," Randy Simpson of Richfield; aunt, Patty Cato of Stanfield; and "grandchildren," Alana, Emma, Austin, Justin, Sendy, and Sierra.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service in celebration of Judy's life will be on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at 10:00 am at Friendship Baptist Church in Stanfield, officiated by Pastor Clint Lewey. Burial will follow at Clarks Grove Primitive Baptist Cemetery, Stanfield.
