Judy Parton Obituary
Judith Ann Gurley Parton, age 85, of Rutherfordton, NC, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 5th, 2025.
Born on April 10th, 1940, in Rutherford County, Judy was a lifelong resident who deeply cherished her family and her roots.
She was the widow of Charles G. Parton, and a daughter of the late Rob and Margaret Scruggs Gurley. She was preceded in death by her daughter Sandy Splawn, grandson Jeremy Starr, and sister Martha Gamble.
Judy is survived by her devoted granddaughter Stacy (Jason); her loving nieces Robin Selvey and Shannon Fisher; nephews Paige Gamble and Randy McDaniel; and her treasured great-grandchildren: Katelynn Lane, Breanna Greene (Benjamin), Joshua Hall (Sarah), and Brookelyn McGee (Michael). She also leaves behind eight adored great-great-grandchildren.
Judy’s legacy lives on through the generations she helped raise, love, and support. She will be remembered for her strength, her unwavering love for her family, and the warmth she shared with all who knew her.
The family will have a small service on Saturday, August, 16th 2025 at Little White Country Church, Rutherfordton, NC, 28139
