Judy Gayle Shoopman

Judy Gayle Shoopman, 73, of Greensburg, passed away at 1:46 p.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at the emergency room of Decatur County Memorial Hospital. She was born on July 16, 1952, in Harrodsburg, Kentucky, the daughter of Chester and Sarah Lou (McQueary) Atchley. She was raised in the Letts community and enjoyed playing piano, singing, listening to music and crocheting. She married Jerry Shoopman on February 5, 1993, in Greensburg. He survives, along with her daughter, Julie Vanderbur of Greensburg, her stepdaughter; Poppy Shoopman of Batesville; her sister, Bettie Lou Floyd Maxwell of Martinsville; her brother, Gary Chester Atchley of Greensburg; her grandchildren; Lilyan Lemus and Wyatt Lemus both of Greensburg. She was preceded in death by her parents; her 1st husband, Edward E. Vanderbur; her brother, Daniel L. Atchley and her sister Angela Sue Atchley. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with Pastor Jeff Floyd officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery in Greensburg. A time of visitation will be held on Monday, October 6, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Association through the funeral home.
