Judy Ann Shumpert, 71, of Dallas, Georgia, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on November 8, 2025.
Judy was born on September 5, 1954, to Herbert (Granddaddy) and Jackie (Nanny) Stubblefield, who preceded her in death.
She was a 1973 graduate of R L Osborne High School.
On May 8, 1976, she married the love of her life, Rick Shumpert, and they spent 49 loving years together building a beautiful life centered on faith, family, and love.
Judy’s greatest joy was being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Rick and their two sons, Ricky (Ashlea) and Brad (Ashley); and her beloved grandchildren — Riley and Emma Ruth Shumpert (children of Ricky and Ashlea) and Abby Mae, Tate, Barrett, and Grant Shumpert (children of Brad and Ashley) — who were the light of her life.
She is also survived by her brothers and sisters: Herbert “Stubby” Stubblefield Jr., Jennie Ballard (Wiley), Brenda Gattis (Al), and Larry Stubblefield (Dawn); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members who loved her deeply. Judy’s kind spirit and steadfast faith touched everyone who knew her. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is now home in heaven, reunited with her parents and embraced by eternal peace.
A memorial service celebrating Judy’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Macland Road Church of Christ, 2732 Macland Rd SW, Marietta, GA 30064. All family and friends are invited to attend.
Pallbearers will be Riley Shumpert, Tate Shumpert, Barrett Shumpert, and Grant Shumpert.
Lemuel Riley and Marvin Picklesimer will serve as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Judy’s memory be made to Raintree Village Children’s Home at https://raintreevillage.org/donate/.
Though Judy’s earthly journey has ended, her faith and deep love for her family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
