Judy Lynn Siedentopf

Beaufort, South Carolina - Judy Lynn Siedentopf, 94, widow of Frederick P. Siedentopf, of Beaufort, SC, died Monday, March 17, 2025 at her residence.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 27, 2025 from 5-7pm at Anderson Funeral Home.

Judy was born on September 21, 1930 in Hayama, Japan. She is the daughter of the late Yoshimasa Sugiura and Fuji Sugiura.

Judy worked for the United States Marine Corps longer than any Marine currently serving in uniform. She was 94 when she retired in late 2024, and served under 26 different generals while working on Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, SC. She stated she moved to the United States to offer her children a better life. She started working at Parris Island when she was 38 as a seamstress. Throughout her career she has seen a lot of change and worked on several uniforms, starting with the Vietnam -Era to present day uniforms. In her 56 years working on the depot she has seen a lot of history. She never liked to be stuck at home and she always enjoyed keeping busy. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, she was always full of laughs and love. She will deeply be missed by all of us.

She was preceded in death by her husband Frederick "Sied" Siedentopf, her mother and father, two sisters, one brother, and her son-in-law Andy Anderson.

Surviving are three daughters, Cindy Gay (Mike), Debbie Anderson and Carol Campbell; two grandchildren, Steven King and Ashley Hess (Brandon); 3 great grandchildren.
