Judy Murphy Stovall, 78, of Villa Rica, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 7, 2025. She was born on May 13, 1947, the daughter of the late John Melton Murphy and the late Betty Evelyn McNorton Murphy.
Judy found joy and fulfillment in her role as a grandmother and she cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren. Her love for them was evident in the countless hours she dedicated to creating memories. She married Joe Stovall in 1973 and she was married to him for fifty-two loving years.
Beyond her family, Judy had a true passion for the outdoors. She enjoyed yard work and gardening. A woman of remarkable talent, Judy liked various crafts including sewing, crocheting, and embroidery. Her creations were always made with love and creativity. She also had a passion and love for all animals, and was well known as an outstanding cook
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son William Russell Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Stovall; daughter, Kelly Smith Hite of Villa Rica and her son, Patrick Andrew Smith of Douglasville; step-daughter, Stacy Marano and her husband Adam Marano of Dadeville, Alabama; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In accordance with her wishes, she was cremated. The family will have a private celebration of life at a later date.
Judy's legacy is one of love, creativity that inspired all who knew her. As we remember her, we celebrate a life well-lived, one filled with laughter, creativity, and an unwavering commitment to those she loved. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
