Judy Karen Wilson-Sweet

Judy Karen Wilson-Sweet, 79, of Rockford, passed away on Friday, October 31, 2025. Born October 24, 1946, in Oak Park, IL, the daughter of Harold and Betty (Stearns) Wilson. Judy married David Sweet on September 30, 1988 in Rockford. A graduate of NIU with a degree in English Literature. Judy was employed by the Rockford Public Library in the Local History Room, and served as vice president of the library's labor union. She was a devoted and loving wife. Judy was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and served as DAR Regent for the Rockford chapter. Through her membership in the DAR she met many political figures, and helped organize the Thomas Jefferson Dinner. She was a serious doll collector and an avid sewer and master quilter.

Judy is survived by her husband, David; son, Richard; daughter, Tammy; grandchildren, Ashlyn, Brianna, Gabrielle, Alex, and Ryan. Predeceased by her parents.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 am. to 1:00 pm. on Friday, November 7, 2025 at Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001 Second Avenue, Rockford, IL 61104. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
