Juli Ann (Fadness) Sandvik, 96, Cooperstown, ND, April 14, 2025

Juli Ann Sandvik passed away peacefully Monday, April 14, to be with her Lord and Savior. She was surrounded by her loving family at the Dakota Regional Medical Center. Juli was born March 9, 1929 on a farm 6 miles west of Sutton, ND. She lived a life of faith, love, and kindness. She loved her girls and grandchildren. She wrote that her significant accomplishments were being a homemaker and C.O.G. (call on grandma).

After graduating from high school 1947, she attended Mayville State College for six weeks to earn a teaching degree, a cost of $22. She taught in a one room schoolhouse in Romness Township for 1 year. She had six grades and eight students. The following summer she was a waitress at Herb’s Café in Cooperstown. She met the love of her life while working at the cafe. Clarence was working for his dad in the Shoe Shop which was 2 doors down. He would send his brother into the café to check on Juli. She then got a job at the First State Bank, was a clerk for the Selective Service Systems, and worked for Farmers and Merchants Bank.

She has been a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cooperstown since 1947. She sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and Bethel Bible Series, she was the Council Secretary, on the board of Education for Sunday School, a member of the Ladies Aid, Circles, and Altar Guild, and made many quilts for World Relief

She loved to make quilts. She made herself a wedding ring quilt and later one for Kitty. She also made quilts for all her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandson.

Juli and Clarence actively served NOMAD’s. Their mission statement is rebuilding lives, homes, and facilities with God’s love and our hands. They also worked with Heifer International. A mission to work with communities to end hunger and poverty, and to care for the Earth.

She is preceded in death by their baby boys born in 1952 and 1956, daughter Brenda Starke, and parents Gilbert and Julia Fadness. Her siblings Amanda (Oscar) Hogie, Cora (Gerald) Gray, Clifford (Evelyne) Fadness, John Fadness, Olga (Harold) Overbeck, Esther (Mansel) Watne, Genora (Theodore) Becknall.
