Julia "Julie" Ann (Stahl) Diede, 95, of
Redfield, South Dakota, passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, August 23rd, 2025, at Avantara Redfield.
Her services will be held on Tuesday, August 26th, 2025, at Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., with her funeral service starting at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Ted Price will officiate. After lunch and fellowship at Leo's Good Food in Redfield, burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Huron, South Dakota.

Julia Ann Stahl was born on April 12th, 1930, to Joshua and Anna (Kleinsasser) Stahl. On September 15th, 1951, she married John Diede in Huron, South Dakota.
She worked various jobs in Huron before she and John moved to Tulare, South Dakota, where together they owned and operated the Tulare Locker Plant from 1966 to 1978. Julie took great pride in keeping the locker plant spotless. After selling the family business, she went to work at Coast to Coast and later as a custodian at the South Dakota Developmental Center in Redfield, where she remained until her retirement in 1997.
Following retirement, Julie and John returned to Huron and eventually moved back to Redfield to be closer to their family. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Julie was a generous, hardworking, caring, and very kind person. Julie was always busy with projects around her home or yard, which she took great pride in. She was a loving mother and a proud grandmother.
She is survived by her children: Jeannine (Danny) Akin of Ashton, South Dakota, Judy (Steve) Baird of Frankfort, South Dakota, Janelle Zens of Redfield, and Jeff Diede of Watertown, South Dakota; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Julie was preceded in death by her husband, John Diede; brothers, LaVern and DeLor; sister, Pheobe; and son-in-law, Paul Zens.
Julie will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
