Charlotte, North Carolina - Julia Ann Eleazer died at home at The Cypress of Charlotte on November 2, 2025, She was the daughter of the late Ethel and William Robertson Connelly of Columbia, South Carolina. Mrs. Eleazer was pre-deceased by her husband, Holmes in 1991; and her only brother, William Robertson Connelly, Jr. of San Diego, California, in 2012.

She attended Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia, and The University of South Carolina in Columbia, where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. As an artist, she is well known for her portrait paintings, which are in private and corporate collections throughout the Southeast.

Julia was a long-time member of Myers Park Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her two sons, Holmes Eleazer and wife Libba of Charlotte, Jeff Eleazer and wife Joan of Dallas, Texas; and daughter Jane and husband Claude Prevost of Columbia, South Carolina. The grandchildren are Elise and Alan Williamson of McLean, Virginia, Clare and David Desmelik of Brevard, North Carolina, Layne and Gavin Pitzer of Dallas, Texas, Katie and Joey Mattingly of Houston, Texas, Claude and Ann-Mac Prevost of Columbia, South Carolina. William and Mary-Clark Prevost of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, Charles and Jane Prevost of Charleston, South Carolina; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Her family wishes to express their gratitude to VIA hospice services and the Stewart Health Center at the Cypress, with particular thanks to the staff on the second floor for their loving care of Julia.

A private family memorial service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Eleazer will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be sent to Myers Park Presbyterian Church, 2501 Oxford Place, Charlotte, North Carolina 28207.
