Julia D. Magerkurth, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2025, at the age

of 89, in Morristown, New Jersey. Born on a leap year day, February 29, 1936, in

Newark, New Jersey, Julia's life was a leap of joy, love, and unwavering faith that

touched the hearts of all who knew her.

Predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard J. Magerkurth, her sons, Richard

and Michael, her parents, Stanley and Mary (Ziobro) Kozak, and her eleven

siblings, Julia's legacy continues to live on through her children, Joan Lynch (James),

Diane Tevnan (Michael), and Peter Magerkurth (Sheri). Her love also extends

to her adored grandchildren, Jaclyn, Jessica, Joshua, Michael, Colleen, Ryan,

Alyssa, and her cherished great- grandchildren, Sahara, Brooklyn, Ava,

Reagan, Sloane, Leo, Colton, Riley, Jagger, Seaver, and Jovie, who will all hold her

memory dear.

Julia's journey through life was marked by her dedication to her family, her faith, and

her community. After attending Union County College, she embarked on a career

that included positions as a secretary at Westinghouse Elevator Co. and a clerk at

the Union Fire Department in Union, NJ. Her professional life was characterized by

the same warmth and meticulous care she gave to her family and friends.

A devout Christian, Julia found great solace and purpose in her religion. She

was a member of the Rosary Altar Society at St. Luke's Church.

Julia's interests reflected her love for life and community. An avid player of Mah

Jongg and Canasta, she enjoyed the camaraderie and challenge of the games.

Her enthusiasm for football showcased her spirited and sociable nature, often

gathering family and friends to share in the excitement of the game. As a member of

the Woman's Club at Lake Ridge, Julia's contributions were numerous, and her

volunteer work at Kimball Hospital demonstrated her selfless nature and her

desire to give back to those in need.

Those who knew Julia would describe her as loving, thoughtful, and faith-filled. Her

presence was a comfort, her smile a gift, and her guidance a steadying force. She

lived her life with an open heart, always ready to embrace new friends, cherish old

ones, and provide a listening ear or a helping hand to anyone in need.

Julia D. Magerkurth's journey on earth may have come to a close, but her spirit will

continue to shine brightly in the lives of those she has left behind. Her unwavering

love, her dedication to her faith, and her generous heart have left an indelible mark

on the world, and for this, she will be forever remembered and deeply missed.
