Julia Rita Medrano
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Julia Medrano, who left us peacefully at the age of 73 on February 16, 2025. Julia was born and raised in Brighton CO. She was born to Tomas and Mary Aurelia Gonzales on May 22,1951. A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Julia will be remembered for her joyful spirit, her devotion to family, and the warmth she brought to everyone who knew her.
Julia loved her life partner, Rudy Padilla. She was the proud mother of three children: Lisa Marie Martinez, Jaime Vazquez (Remy), Marcos Medrano (Natasha), and a cherished grandmother to six grandchildren: Alexandra, Amanda, Elizabeth, Isaac, Isaiah, Israel. She was also a great-grandmother to seven great-grandchildren: Annika, Annaya, Neveah, Annaysia, Genesis, Adalayde, Arlo, all of whom she adored with all her heart. Her love for her family knew no bounds, and she found her greatest joy when they were gathered together, sharing laughter and making memories. In addition to her love for family, Julia had a special bond with her beloved dog, Billie, who was always by her side, and enjoyed her favorite comfort foods, especially red chili, potatoes, and eggs. She had a fondness for the little things in life, from the joy of nurturing her plants, to her love of nail polish and always having her nails and toes done. Julia was the seventh of thirteen children, a close-knit family that shared many adventures, laughs, and memories. She cherished her time spent with her "sissies," especially during trips to the casino, where the fun and laughter never stopped. She loved those moments of camaraderie with her sisters and the thrill of a good adventure. Her sense of humor, kind heart, and genuine love for those around her will be deeply missed. Julia's life was one filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments, and she leaves behind a legacy that will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Julia is survived by her life partner, three children, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a large extended family of siblings, nieces, nephews, and friends who will all miss her dearly. She is now resting peacefully with her loved ones in heaven.
