Julia Peralez, 84, of Fort Collins, CO, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2025, after a courageous 2-year battle with cancer.
Julie was born on June 18, 1940, in Oak Park, Illinois, to John and Dorothy Webb. She graduated from Oak Park High School in 1958 before attending Colorado State University in Fort Collins, where she earned her degree in occupational therapy. It was during her time at CSU that Julie met her future husband, Rudy Peralez, whom she married in 1961.
Julie's life was defined by her dedication, hard work, and unwavering commitment to her family. After graduation, she supported Rudy during his service in the United States Army, including his deployment to Vietnam. Following his military service, the couple settled in Nebraska with their two young children, where Julie discovered a new passion for accounting. She earned her master's degree from the University of Nebraska and went on to pass the Certified Public Accounting (CPA) exam. Julie spent 25 fulfilling years as an auditor with the State of Nebraska Public Auditors' Office, retiring in 2001.
After retirement, Julie and Rudy moved to Fort Collins to be closer to family. Julie treasured
spending time with her children and five grandchildren, often babysitting and offering support in any way she could. She was deeply involved in her community, volunteering with organizations such as the Fort Collins Newcomers Club, Open Hearts Sunday School, and the Adoption Dreams Come True Agency. Julie was also a dedicated member of PEO, a philanthropic organization supporting women's education.
Julie's life was one of service, love, and joy. She was an avid reader, enjoyed playing bridge, and always made time for others. She loved dogs, especially her golden doodle Cheyenne, who will miss her dearly. Julie will be fondly remembered for her caring nature, tireless work ethic, and deep love for her family and friends.
Julie leaves a lasting impact on her family and will be remembered by her husband of 63 years, her children; Ken Peralez and Michelle Young, her five grandchildren, and her great grandson. Julie is preceded in death by her parents, John and Dorothy Webb, and her brother, George Webb, and can now rest.
A memorial service will be held on February 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church in Fort Collins. Her service will be livestreamed. Please follow the link provided to access virtually: https://www.firstchurchfc.org/
