Julia Irene Wright, 82, of Marietta passed away at 6:30pm, Thursday, January 1, 2026, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

Julia was born on August 1, 1943, in Marietta a daughter of Earl D. Gutberlet and Alfreda King Gutberlet. She was a wife and mother. Julia was a member of the Little Muskingum Fire Department as an EMT, a past member of the Little Muskingum Grange, and was a 4H advisor and foster parent for 36 years.

On October 7, 1961, she married Ronald Wright, who survives with 3 sons and 2 daughters: Ronald (Cheryl) Wright of Marietta, Kenneth (Sheila) Wright of Marietta, Brandon (Abigail) Wright of Stockport, Theresa (Tim) Chrisman of Logan and Brenda (Don) McClead of Marietta, 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and her sister Elaine Mace.

She is preceded in death by her parents, grandchild Eugene Wright and her brother Earl F. Gutberlet.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday (Jan. 6) at 11:00 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial following in East Lawn Memorial Park. Family will greet friends at the funeral home on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8. A dinner will follow the burial at Moss Run Community Church. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankford.com.
