Julian James Degenstein, a devoted father, husband, and friend, passed away on August 29, 2025 at 41, in his home near Berthold, surrounded by those who loved him most.

He was a loving husband to his wife, Nichole Degenstein. Julian and Nichole were married at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Minot 16 years ago. He was a devoted father to 3 daughters, Cheyenne (16), Elsa (12) and Gracelynn (9).

Julian was born in Minot, ND on 1/20/1984 to Mary Cano and Jim Degenstein. He grew up in many different cities throughout the United States. Julian had a love for wide open spaces with many animals. He enjoyed country life most. Julian was known not only for his hard work but also for his kindness and generosity, always ready to lend a hand to those in need. He had a love for vehicles, especially older trucks leading to quite a collection through the years. Julian was happiest homesteading with his wife and girls. He loved going on outdoor adventures with his family.

Julian is survived by his wife Nichole and daughters Cheyenne, Elsa and Gracelynn; Mary (Peter) Cano, Tucson, AZ; Jim (Teresa) Degenstein, Gordonsville, TN; grandmother Vivan Rudnick, Garrison, ND; step-siblings, Tatiana (Tye) Johnson, Tucson, AZ, and Courtney Pappas, Rosebush, MI; half-brothers, Pete Cano, Salt Lake City, UT and Alex Degenstein, New Meadows, ID.

Julian was preceded in death by his grandparents, Theodore Rudnick, Donald and Madonna Haberman, and aunt Jamie McElroy.
