In memory of

January 6, 2024
Hello once more Dear,
Yesterday, January 5th was our 50th Anniversary, or would have been. I always said we'd make it, but 44 years was still pretty awesome!! Christmas and New Year's have come and gone again, and our family still misses your presence. We have so many memories from holidays past, including the holiday punch you loved to make!
Everyone is well. Ripley signed to Purdue on a swim scholarship, and is really looking forward to college. Reece still swims, but plans to play football his last year at middle school this fall. It seems unreal that he'll be 13 in February!! Alison gave birth to another boy in November, Edwin. Wesson loves being the big brother now. Nikki's, Josephine, will be a year old in March. You surely would have loved the great-grandchildren!
I haven't taken the decorations down yet, but will start this week. Every time I run the train under the tree and hear the whistle, I think of you and how much you enjoyed it.
It's been a pretty mild fall and winter so far...no big snowfall, yet! Now we'll anxiously wait for spring.
Time passes so quickly...it will be 6 years in May since you left us all so suddenly. I love you and will miss you every day for the rest of my life, until we're reunited. We had a special 44 years of marriage, and for that and our wonderful family, I thank God!!
Love ALWAYS!!!

Hi Dear,
I visited the cemetery and placed a flag next to our stone. It's Memorial Day weekend, and I read all the flight licenses you so proudly achieved. I even tried to salute...you probably would have chuckled at my attempt! I'm so proud of your accomplishments and your contribution to society as a "first responder" on the fire department for 23 years!
Brad and Terri are inviting family to their new home Sunday in celebration of loved ones. We'll all be thinking about you and reminiscing. Who knows, maybe you can somehow hear us. The weather should be perfect. It's been a pretty warm spring, and the flowers are lovely as always. Of course, then we'll be celebrating the 4th of July at the annual Merritt swim party.
I wish you could see everyone. Ripley will be 18 this fall and is looking at colleges to attend after her senior year. Reece is 12 and will be in 7th grade. They are both continuing to swim, but Reece loves Pal football and is good at it! Oh, I'm a great-grandma now too. Alison has Wesson, who will be 2 in July, and Nikki has Josephine, who is 2 months old. Looking forward to seeing them at the gathering.
On August 16th, it will be 50 years since we had our first date to Mackinac Island. I know the date because I have it marked in your flight logbook. That was the beginning of an amazing 44 years together. I love you and miss you so much!!

My dear husband,
Here it is, 4 years tonight at 9:30pm, you peacefully left this world. That's longer than the time you lived here with me in Roanoke. Even though it was brief, I know you enjoyed this home. You knew all along it's what we needed, when we moved from the house on Gehring Lane. We both loved the home that you designed and built. It was our home "together" with our family, and we had many wonderful memories there. I'm doing okay for the most part, but still miss you terribly by my side! The kids talked me into going to Jamaica again in October...it's been 8 years. Again, it won't be the same without you, but they all tell me it's what you would have wanted me to do. I'm so grateful to have so much love and concern from our special family!
Spring has been beautiful with warm weather and rain, which makes all the flowers pop. I'm still trying to take care of the yard and flower beds, even though I can tell I'm a year older. You used to tell me to just wait a few more years, and you'll see how different you feel Anyway, I love you ALWAYS!

Hi Dear,
Here we are again close to the 4th of July, and getting ready to celebrate at the Merritt's. The family made it through the Covid pandemic, and are gradually getting back to normal!
I just looked at all the photos from your memorial site and reminisced about so many of the places and events we shared together. You've not been with me for a little over 3 years now...not physically, but always close by everywhere. After not attending church for over a year because of Covid, I finally went last Sunday and felt your presence next to me as always, especially during the Lord's prayer.
I am well, but still miss you every day! You wouldn't believe all the flowers I have added behind the house...they are really beautiful again this year. I remember how much fun we had buying new ones every year.
I am so grateful for the friends at Turnstone and my wonderful neighbors here. Of course, I have the support of our children, which means the most.
Until next time,
LOVE ALWAYS, Rosanne

Hello again dear,
This year 2020 has been difficult and challenging at times, because of the Covid pandemic in our country and the world. I'm so glad you didn't have to endure this also.
I went to the Merritts on the 4th of July. Rebecca and Reece are continuing the tradition "Before you know it, it will be Christmas!" Rebecca won this round, but we'll see if Reece remembers on December 25th
They have two new Aussiedoodles too...you would have enjoyed them!
The flower bed looks good again this year, even though we've had some pretty hot temperatures lately. I think of you every time I see the hummingbirds.
We've lost several more at Turnstone in the past two years since you've been gone. I still attend the support group, even though most of us are widows now.
I am well, and thank God every night for giving me another day. You're in my thoughts all the time. Two songs that always remind me of us are "The Joker" and "Theme from Somewhere in Time" and of course can't forget "Through the Years"! There are so many others, but those are special.
I love you and miss you ❤❤❤
Always, Rosanne

Hi dear. Thanksgiving is in a few days, and then Christmas will be here again. This will be our second Christmas apart. I know how much you loved the holidays, and I still try to keep up with the traditions we had. It's not as fun doing it without you, but it keeps my memories of you alive.
You would be so proud to see how much Ripley and Reece have grown. Ripley is still a champion swimmer, and Reece is swimming now too. He's doing great! Of course he's still plays flag football and Upward basketball.
You're on my mind every day, and I hope you can feel my love for you somehow.
Missing you.

It's been a little over a year now dear, and I miss you so much every day! The flowers are all blooming so beautifully now, and I feel your presence when I do "the tour de fleur" as we called it Everyone misses you, and soon we'll celebrate our country's birthday...only 6 more months until you know what! I look at photos and reminisce about all our adventures and great moments. We had an amazing life together, and I am so grateful and blessed to love you and have your love in return "through the years".
Until we're together again,
Love Always, Rosanne

So sorry to hear of Julian's passing. I flew with Julian on several occasions over the years. Always the consummate professional with a great sense of humor. Just an all around good guy. He'll be missed. Godspeed Julian.....

I'm so sorry to learn of Julian's death. I remember him fondly from our classes together at Turnstone. Julian had a dry sense of humor which I thoroughly enjoyed. He had a knack for unexpectedly slipping a funny comment into the conversation, his intent given away only by the twinkle in his eyes.
My sympathy goes out to you and your family, Roseanne. I regret that I won't be able to attend his service, but you will be in my thoughts.
Love to all,
Peg Maginn
