Julian Rito "JR" Ramirez Jr.

Surrounded by his loving family, Julian Rito Ramirez Jr. of Fresno, California, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026, at the age of 89. He was born on May 22, 1936, in Tracy California, the son of Julian and Isabel Ramirez.

Julian dedicated 32 years of his life to the California Department of Water Resources, where he took great pride in his work, consistently went above and beyond to strengthen operations and supported the communities the Department served. He lived a life marked by generosity, laughter, and profound love for his family. His legacy endures in the values he instilled, the memories he leaves behind, and the deep love that will forever unite his family.

Julian is survived by his children, Eva Marie Hinojos (husband, Frank Hinojos III) of Fresno, CA, and Chris Ramirez of La Paz, B.C.S.; and by his grandchildren, Frank Hinojos IV of Fresno, CA, Christopher Hinojos (wife, Kelli Hinojos) of Clovis, CA, Nicole Chilton (husband, Joshua Chilton) of Sacramento, CA, Laniece Goetz (husband, Kevin Goetz) of Stockton, CA, Alex Ramirez and Diego Ramirez of Tracy, CA; and, six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Simon Ramirez, Linda Welch (husband, Greg Welch), Dolores Pimentel (husband, David Pimentel), Paul Ramirez (wife, Virginia Ramirez) of Tracy, CA, Lydia Quintana of Stockton, Edward Ramirez (wife, Alicia Ramirez) of Linden, and Carmen Moreno of Huntington Beach, CA, as well as his former wife and mother of his children, Celia Ramirez of Stockton, CA.

Visitation for Julian will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026, beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Avenue, Tracy, CA. The Rosary will be prayed that evening at 7:00 p.m., also at Fry Memorial Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, 163 W. Eaton Avenue, Tracy, CA. Graveside services will immediately follow at Tracy Public Cemetery.
