Dr. Julie Anderson, 71, of Rockville, passed away after a brief illness on December 19, 2024, in Indianapolis. Known for her dedication to veterinary medicine and her love for animals, Julie made a lasting impact on her community and will be deeply missed.
Born in Fort Wayne in 1953 to Joseph and Phyllis (Knote) Keller, Julie excelled academically, graduating from South Side High School in 1971. She pursued her passion for animal care at Purdue University, earning her degree from the School of Veterinary Medicine in 1978.
On August 7, 1982, Julie married Ralph J. Anderson, who preceded her in death in 1992. Julie's career was marked by her devotion to her work as a veterinarian at West Central Veterinary Services, where she remained a valued team member until her passing. Her Australian Cattle Dogs were her constant companions, reflecting her lifelong love for animals.
In addition to her husband and parents, Julie was preceded in death by her sister, Elaine Eastes, and her brother, Alan Keller. She is survived by her sister, Lisa (Kim) Hassett; her brother-in-law, Eric Eastes; nieces Gwen Daub, Kayla Brooks, Morgan McElheny, Kellyn Eastes, and Tori Eastes; and her nephew, Jared Eastes. Julie's memory will also be cherished by her close friends Susan Seitz and Jeannie Day, along with her colleagues at West Central Veterinary Services.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 p.m. Until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2025, at the Parke County Fairgrounds 4-H Building, 1472 N US 41, Rockville.
Memorial contributions, if friends so desire, may be made to the Parke County Community Foundation for Julie Anderson, DMV Scholarship Fund, PO Box 276 Rockville, Indiana 47872.
