Julie Dyer Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 1, 2025.
Julie Ann Dyer, Age 83, of Rockvale, TN passed away on October 30, 2025 at her home surrounded by family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruben Calvin Blythe and Annie H. Blythe; brothers Ruben C. Blythe Jr., Robert Blythe, George F. (Shorty) Blythe, William Blythe, John A. Blythe, and Bobby Ray Blythe; sisters Edna Bolton and Evelyn Stone; daughter Deborah Ann Dyer.
Julie grew up in Fosterville, TN. A blonde haired, blue eyed, tomboy who was always outdoors. A daddy's girl, never leaving his side. Julanne was her nickname. She told stories of her adventures with her brother, Bobby Ray (Butch). She enjoyed riding horses with her brothers.
She met her devoted husband Odell at a Halloween Party, and they were married for 65 years. They enjoyed fishing trips, and taking vacations to Gulf Shores and Pigeon Forge with family. Julie loved Gospel and Bluegrass music- always attending Uncle Dave Macon Days. She loved to sing and dance in the kitchen. She will always be remembered as the life of every party. Always making everyone laugh, and maybe picking a fight or two. She could whistle so loud, it would silence an entire room. She loved and cared for her grandchildren fiercely, attending every ball game and performance.
Julie is survived by her husband, Edward Odell Dyer; daughters Sheila (Clyde) Edwards, Rita (Gene) Thomas; Grandchildren Andrea (James) Steiner, and Brian Edwards; sister Edith Carpenter; Best friend Mae (Wayne) Windrow.
Visitation with the family will be held at Community Church at Windrow (formally known as Windrow Methodist Church) on Monday, November 3rd, 2025 at 10:00am until time of service at 1:00pm. Walt Merritt officiating. Burial will follow at Windrow Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
