Julie Gilmore Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ozark Funeral Homes - Anderson on Nov. 11, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Julie Ann (Meador) Gilmore, passed away on Sunday, November 9th, 2025 in Joplin, Missouri
after a short illness. Born under the harvest moon on September 20th, 1958 in Gravette,
Arkansas, Julie's journey through this earthly realm drew to a peaceful close in Joplin, Missouri,
surrounded by the love of her family.

Julie is survived by her loving husband, Sherrill "Bud" Gilmore, with whom she shared a love as
enduring as the stars. They married on June 9th, 1979, having first glimpsed one another years
earlier at a viewing of the musical, "The Sound of Music," and they danced through life, teasing
in love's playful jest. Their enduring union resulted in two sons. The eldest son, Jody Gilmore
and wife Stephanie along with their son and Julie's cherished grandson, Alex, of Noel, MO, and
Julie's youngest son, Willie Gilmore and two grandpups, Vortex and Stormy, of Sherwood,
Arkansas. Julie is also survived by her older brother, Frankie Meador and wife Annette, of Noel,
Missouri, along with their two sons Steven and Bryan Meador.

Though preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Betty (Watson) Meador, her younger
brother, Allen Meador, and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins, Julie's memory shall be as
a beacon of love and joy to all who had the honor of knowing her.

Beyond being a loving wife and mother, Julie served with grace as a teller at the Cornerstone
Bank in Lanagan, Missouri for around a decade, where her generosity and humor became the
hallmark of her service. She was a treasure in the hearts of all who knew her.

A lady of diverse and passionate interests, Julie found solace and delight in the arts of sewing
and cooking. Her hands, ever nimble, wove threads into tapestries of warmth, and her culinary
feasts were a testament to her love for those she held dear. Musicals, the grand spectacles of
human emotion set to song, held a special place in her heart, with "Mamma Mia" ascending as
the jewel in her crown of favorite plays.

Her home was a sanctuary for dogs, cats, goats, chickens, ducks, geese, pigs, rabbits, deer, and
raccoons-all found solace and care under her tender gaze over her many years. To these silent
companions, she was a guardian, a steward of nature's grace.

To speak of Julie is to speak of love incarnate, a soul whose generosity knew no bounds, and
whose laughter was a balm to the weary. Her presence was a font of joy, and her spirit, a light
that shall never be dimmed by the passage of time or the distance of space. Rest well, sweet
Julie, and may flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 pm in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark funeral Homes
