Obituary published on Legacy.com by Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors - Hodgson Chapel on Mar. 26, 2026.
Julie (Shutts) Huber, 70, of Savannah, formerly of Southeast, Florida, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday March 23, 2026.

Julie was born August 9, 1955, in Alexandria, Louisianna, daughter of Duncan Shutts, and preceded in death by her mother, Blanche Jackson Shutts. She resided in Southeast, Florida from an early age until moving to Savannah in 2023. Julia received her primary and secondary education in public schools. Following high school, she continued her post-secondary education, becoming a License Practical Nurse.

In 1980, Julie married Dale J. Huber of Plantation, Florida. Following the birth of their twins, Julie retired as a nurse to be a mother to their children. In addition to motherhood, Julia cared for many family pets over the years, and she loved all animals. Julia also enjoyed various crafts especially sewing, British TV shows, ice hockey and driving trips to the mountains around Ashville.

In addition to her husband Dale, survivors include a son, Kellen Huber, daughter, Sara Philip (Charlie), grandson, Avi Philip, brother, Mark Shutts (Heather), niece, Zoe Shutts, and sister, Christine Shutts.

The family will hold a celebration of life in South Florida at later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that you consider a donation in Julie's memory to Pooler Paws, at Poolerpaws.org or Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia at Helphunger.org.
