Julie Moran Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel - Honey Grove on Feb. 3, 2026.
Julie Elizabeth Moran, age 46, of Honey Grove, Texas, passed away on January 31, 2026. She was born on March 28, 1979, in Paris, Texas, to Francis Earl Moran and Sarah June Moss Moran.

Julie's children were her world. She loved being a mother to Grayson and Vivi they were always her top priority. She was at every ball game, even coaching Little Dribblers and their soccer teams when they were small. She attended every event they participated in, always their biggest fan. She tried to make every holiday magical for them. She loved cooking for them and with them.

Julie was an excellent cook. She was our large family's dressing maker at Thanksgiving, and Christmas and made lasagna (even homemade noodles) every Christmas Eve. Any event, you could always count on Julie to bring something yummy and beautiful. She loved flowers (pink peonies were her favorite), green plants, and even grew her own vegetables and herbs. Her green thumb made her patio an oasis every year. Julie had an eye for decorating her lovely home, often bringing home one-of-a-kind treasures from garage sales, estate sales, or thrift stores. She loved fashion and was always dressed stylishly. She had a special love for shoes, especially high heels.

She was always Daddy's girl and Mama's baby. She loved her brother Clay fiercely and loyally, trusting him above all others with the guardianship of her precious children. She would have done anything for her special Aunt Janet, and her closest cousins, Leah and Blake. Janet was like a second mother to her, and Leah and Blake were more like siblings than cousins. She loved her bestie, Madelyn like a sister. The Roberts family was her second family. She knew she could always count on Wanda, Carla, Angie, Hailey, and Raeli for anything.

Julie was an educator, making and loving many friends on her journey. She started out teaching kindergarten in Leonard ISD, was a diagnostician for Collin County Coop as a licensed specialist in school psychology for Allen ISD, and assistant principal at North Lamar ISD, a high school principal at Sam Rayburn ISD. She was currently head of special programs at Trenton ISD. She earned her undergraduate degree at Texas A&M University Commerce, and also completed her Masters of Education there. Postgraduate she earned an administration certification and her LSSP certificate. Julie had a brilliant mind and a servant's heart.

Julie was confirmed and baptized in this very church. She was a believer and prayed often. I know she was met at Heaven's Gate with open arms by her Mema, her Mama Re, and her Aunt Della Kay.

Above all, Julie loved her babies, her family, and her friends. And we all loved her.

Honorary Pallbearers, Jeremy Moss, Jason Moss, Jonathan Moss, Matthew Griffin, Mark Griffin, Blake Jones, Todd Morrison, Lucas Morrison, Kevin Loschke, Josh Shipman, Jeremy Strickland, Michael Simmons, Wes Becknell.

A memorial service will be held for Julie at McKenzie United Methodist Church in Honey Grove, Texas, on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at 11:00 AM, under the direction of Rev. Dr. Keri Lynn Lucas.

Our hearts are broken for my beautiful cousin.............my Grandfather always had a baby picture of you and your Grandmother Marie (his daughter) on his bedroom dresser. They couldn't have been prouder of you as a baby, and would have been amazed at the woman you became.
With deep sadness, your cousin Lynn Marie and Aunt Marie
