Port Barre -- A funeral service for Julie Ann Smith will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Port Barre., Fr. Clint Trahan will be officiating the service.
Julie, age 59 a resident of Port Barre passed away on October 1, 2023, at her home in Port Barre. Julie will be missed by all her family and friends.
Survivors include her mother, Mary Mabel Noel Robert of Vidor, Texas, her son, Raphael Smith of Port Barre, her daughters, Jessica Fontenot (Charles) of Arnaudville, Melanie Smith of Youngsville, Bobbi Smith (Justin) of Krotz Springs, and Jamie Poirrier (Kris) of Arnaudville, sisters, Catherine Deville of Carencro, and Susan Champeaux (Dean) of Vidor, Texas, grandchildren, Gavyn Comeaux, Raelynn Comeaux, Emilyn Fontenot, Brennan Smith, Alaina Smith, Emoree Franklin, Kayleigh Poirrier, and Jaxson Poirrier.
She was preceded in death by her father, Rufus A. Robert, brother-in-law, Bill Deville, and her companion Jason Guidroz.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023, from 1:00pm to 10:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be prayed at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home. On Friday October 6, 2023, the funeral home will reopen at 8:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Pallbearers will be Raphael Smith, Tony Deville, Gavyn Comeaux, Charles Fontenot, Justin Smith and Kris Poirrier. Honorary pallbearers will be Brennan Smith.
