Julie Anna Tenney, 68, of Akron, Ohio, passed away on July 7, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Julie was born March 18,1957 in Akron,Ohio, the daughter of the late Duane R Thomas and the late Norma Jean Beswetherick (Fate).
Julie attended Stow-Munroe Falls City Schools, then went on to build a 34 year career in banking. She recently retired from CSE Federal Credit Union in Canton, Ohio, in December 2024.
Julie married Richard P Tenney on July 29, 1989 at Springfield Presbyterian Church. They were married for 37 years. Julie’s pride and joy were her 4 grandchildren.
Julie loved playing Bingo, gambling at the casino, going to Costco and most of all, putting her toes in the sand at Myrtle Beach.
Remaining to cherish Julie’s memory are her Husband Richard Tenney of Akron, Ohio; Daughters, Angie (Derf) Romig of Stow, Ohio and Jen (Jeff) Hawkins of Lantana, TX; Grandchildren, Anna Marie, Shelby Elaine, Rylee Parker and Bennjamin Lucan; Sisters, Cheryl Thomas and Lenora (Leonard) Carpenter; Brothers Duane Thomas Jr. and Michael Thomas. And many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 14th, from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron) where services will be held at 12:00pm with Chaplain Terry Arnold officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Glioblastoma Research Organization in Julie’s memory.
