Juliette Quintal, age 99, of Berlin, NH passed away on Tuesday morning November 11, 2025 at St Vincent de Paul Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Berlin, NH where she had resided for the past three years. She was born in Berlin on February 18, 1926 to Emile and Alice (Moreau) Quintal and she had been a lifelong resident. She was a graduate of Notre Dame High School the class of 1945.
For many years Juliette was a clerk at City Drug and later she would become co-owner of Elm St. Market along with her brother, Armand. Together they operated the neighborhood store for over thirty years. The neighborhood kids, also known as the "Hill Crew", would frequently stop in at the market where Juliette and Armand, who had no children of their own, enjoyed interacting with them. They delighted in their antics and cherished their friendship. In later years, several from the hill stayed in touch with the Quintals. Juliette and Armand were very touched by their presence and caring.
Juliette was a communicant of Ste Anne church of Good Shepherd Parish. Her faith was very important to her and she was an active participant in several parish ministries. She served as a Eucharistic minister at church as well as bringing communion to residents at the nursing home. She was a member of the church choir, altar guild, religious education instructor, bingo volunteer and served the parish in other ministries as the need arose. She was also a member of the Marie Rivier Associates. In later years, she enjoyed the company of friends at weekly Saturday night card parties and hour long conversations on the phone.
She was predeceased by her parents and only sibling, Armand.
