Obituary of

Julius Hart Gibson, Sr.

(A Well Lived Life)

August 10, 1944 --- September 19, 2025

Julius Hart Gibson, Sr. was born in Keiser, AR to Robert and Tiny Mae Gibson on August 10, 1944. His earlier school years were spent at Rosenwald High in Osceola and later at Harrison in Blytheville, Ar.

After high school, Julius enlisted in the United States Army, where he served six years.

When he returned home, he became involved in many things, not the least of which; was becoming the leader of a band called “The Outcast Band”. He also owned and operated clubs in Blytheville, AR and Osceola, AR called Dr. J’s R&B Club.

Julius was definitely a jack-of-all trades. Ones of his greatest passions was repairing and painting cars. In fact, he owned his own body shop for over thirty years. Everything and anything he decided to accomplish; he did it wholeheartedly and well.

In 2023, he was honored and presented an award for being the inspiration behind the “Osceola Heritage Music Fest”. He was awarded a Key to the City by Mayor Dickie Kennemore. Julius left a lasting impression on many and his legacy will live on for years to come.

Julius Hart Gibson, Sr. departed this life on September 19, 2025, in Jonesboro, AR at the age of 81. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Tiny Mae Gibson; two brothers: Dennis Gibson and Vedell Gibson; seven sisters: Maybelle Gibson, Dora Alice Murray, Leanna Farr, Mary Bernice Hughes, Veola Broadnax, Emma Estell and Evelyn Lewis.

Julius is survived by one sister: Lovelle Coleman of Osceola and a devoted life-long companion: Pamela Brown, also of Osceola. He is also survived by four sons: Julius Hart Gibson (Virgie) of Blytheville, AR; Jermaine Gibson (LaQuinta) of San Antonio, TX; Torrey Gibson (Nicole) of Sidney, OH; and Brandon Gibson of Jonesboro, AR; three daughters: Karla Gibson Hunter of Temple, GA, Jennifer Burnett (Danny) of Jonesboro, AR and Leanna Gibson of Osceola, AR.

He also had seven bonus children that he loved dearly and raised as his own: Tracy Taylor of Rosharon, TX, William Brown (Carlena) of Memphis, TN, Manual Brown (Earlena) of Memphis, TN, Jammy Parker of Temple, GA, Carol Robinson of Rosharon, TX, Thelma Joplin (Michael) of Osceola, AR and Rayetta Gibson Chapman of Breman, GA.; and forty-two grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
