Julius Anthony Reape

Juju was born in Anchorage, Alaska, on November 12th, 2004 to Kasandra Maddox. Juju spent his childhood growing up in Anchorage where he attended schools in the Anchorage School District and graduated from Service High. JuJu aspired to attend school for business with a specialty in real estate, with the hope of eventually becoming a real estate broker. Juju passed away on October 20th, 2025 at the age of 20 in Anchorage, Alaska.
Juju's family describes him as someone with an unmatched sense of humor and a smile that could light up any room. His sisters knew him as their protector, the one who always had their backs, no questions asked. He loved hard, felt deep, and wore his heart on his sleeve. And when it came to food, Juju didn't miss a meal or a family gathering for those get-togethers were full of good food, loud laughs, and the occasional food fight.
Juju was a competitor, you could always find him playing NBA 2K, he was the top player in the entire state of Alaska. He also had a passion for sports, playing football, basketball, wrestling, track, and taekwondo. It was on the football field where he truly shined. His talent as a running back was unmatched - and if you ever watched him play, you'd know that seeing him score three touchdowns while carrying five defenders on his back was just another day for Juju.
Juju had immense potential and worked hard to turn early obstacles into positives for himself and his family. His passing leaves a huge hole in the hearts of loved ones. We ask that you remember him for his life and the impact he had on those he loved.
Juju is survived by his mother, Kasandra Maddox, step-mother, Megan Mercier; sisters, LaShawntae Reape and Adriahnna Mercier; grandmothers, Sandra Dervin and Beatrice Reape; uncles, Dimonique Maddox, Karl Maddox Jr., Edwin Reape; aunties, Jasmin Maddox, Latisha Maddox, Mary Nell Maddox, Nicole Reape, and many, many cousins. Juju is preceded in death by his grandfathers Cyril Reape and Karl Maddox Sr.; his cousins Daishon Alex, Precious Alex-Talamaivao, Tyleah Maddox-Livengood, and Dawon Ford.
