It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of June Baker, age 98, on October 5, 2025 at 10 A.M. June was born at Cushing Hospital in Leavenworth, Kansas on June 8, 1927 to Lillian and Grover Meyer, who preceded her in death. She grew up at Meyer Dairy in Basehor, Kansas, being an only girl with five brothers.

After graduation from Basehor High School in 1945, she worked for the Dictaphone Corporation in Kansas City, Missouri. She married Charles Baker on January 26, 1952 at Holy Angels Church in Basehor. They moved to Leavenworth, Kansas where they celebrated 68 years of marriage before Charles passed away in April of 2020.

June was a member of The First United Methodist Church, an active Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader, and a member of EO-PEO for many years. She also volunteered at Cushing Hospital for 15 years. Her hobbies were knitting, reading, and traveling especially cruising. She and Charles went on many cruises and bus trips together. She also travelled on many world-wide cruises with her two daughters, sister-in-law Rosemary Combs, and long-time friend, Emma Jeanne Liggett.

June valued her family and home above all else. She is survived by three children Her son, Mike (Shaun) Baker in Prairie Village, Kansas, and daughters Nancy Baker in Lawrence, Kansas, and Susan (John) Baker-Ory in Payson, Arizona. She has four grandchildren, Chris (Kathryn) Ory, Matt (Kate) Ory, Lauren Baker, Jake Baker and four great-grandchildren, Mia and Ben Ory, Charlie and Reece Ory. She is survived by one brother, Allen Meyer of Lawrence, Kansas

June was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and four brothers, Howard Meyer, Ivan "Swede" Meyer, Everett "Spike" Meyer and Marvin Meyer.

June's passing leaves an immense void but her spirit, love, and dedication to family and friends remain in the hearts of those she loved.

Visitation will be held at First United Methodist Church, 422 Chesnut St. Leavenworth, Kansas, on Friday, October 31, 2025 from 9 to 10 A.M. Funeral service will follow at 10 A.M. at the church. Burial will be held at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
