June Eschrich Buechner passed away at the age of 94, surrounded by family, on July 22, 2025, in Tucker, Georgia. In 1931, she was born the only child to Henry and Elsa Eschrich in St. Louis, Missouri. She married Robert "Bob" Buechner in 1954 and began married life in Augusta at Fort Gordon. After Bob's service, they moved back to St. Louis and started a family. They moved to Atlanta, GA, in 1961, where June became a consummate homemaker. The family moved back to St. Louis in 1968 and then back to Atlanta in 1971. She then embraced being a southerner and set out to understand Georgia red clay. She was happiest celebrating with family and always managed to make sure there was food for one more person. She loved sewing and made clothes for all of her children and grandchildren. She was a Master Gardener and had a magnificent backyard full of hydrangeas, ferns, hostas, gardenias, and wildflowers. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved being "Mema" to so many. Trips to St. Simons Island with her husband and all of her big family were treasured, and she would stay on the beach all day with a little cooler with sandwiches and peaches.

June joined Shallowford Presbyterian Church in 1974 and was deeply involved in numerous ministries, including Women's Circle, SPC Women, Meals on Wheels, and was a church elder. Her favorite bible passage was Psalm 23.

She had an infectious laugh and was a true optimist. She will be missed by many. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Joseph Buechner.

She is survived by her children David (Betsy), Linda (Mark) Kelly, Thomas, Michael (Mary), Laura (Daniel) Holmes, Robert Jr. (Ismary), and Christopher (Jill), grandchildren Lauren Izzo, Kate Buechner, David Buechner Jr., Eric (Lauren) Kelly, Nicholas (Nour) Kelly, Sarah (Sam) Kerr, Meghan (AJ) Hurst, Zack (Ashley) Buechner, Connor (Katie) Buechner, Michael Buechner Jr., Rebecca (Will) Dupree, Emily (Alejandro) Hombrados, Ryan (Courtney) Holmes, Lisette (Blaise) Wannemacher, Jessica (William) Gordon, Adalie (Tim) White, Mercer Buechner, Whitman Buechner, and great grandchildren Emilia and Juliana Izzo, Ada and Edan Kelly, Jackson, Bennett and Maddox Kelly, Reagan and Bobby Kerr, Elliana, Finley and Magnolia Hurst, Beau and Lunden Buechner, Cole and Owen Buechner, Wesley, Adelaide, Henry and George DuPree, Mateo, AvaRose and Luca Hombrado, Maggie Holmes, Pace, Palmer and Annie Wannemacher, McKennan, Bertie, and Hollis Gordon.

A memorial service will be held at Shallowford Presbyterian Church on Monday, August 11, at 10:00 AM.
