June E. Dohallow, a lifelong resident of Sharon, passed away early Tuesday morning, April 9, 2024, in St. John XXIII Home, Hermitage. She was 101.
Mrs. Dohallow was born June 2, 1922, in Sharon, a one of ten children to the late Lester and Ellen (Dillon) Patterson, and graduated from Sharon High School in 1940.
A homemaker, June enjoyed her daily breakfast and watching game shows on television, especially Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and The Price is Right. She also enjoyed shopping and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
June was a member of the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage, and was previously a longtime member of the Church of the Sacred Heart, Sharon, where she belonged to the Catholic Daughters.
Her husband of 34 years, Carl W. Dohallow, whom she married on January 7, 1947, preceded her in death May 18,1981.
June is survived by a daughter, Nancy Dohallow, with whom she made her home in Sharon; two sons, Tim Dohallow (Sandy), Houston, TX, and Doug Dohallow (Tami), Grove City; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Dahl, Sarah Dohallow, Aaron Sankey, and Adam Sankey; two great-grandchildren, Tripp Dahl and Ashton Dohallow; a sister, Norma Koss, Houston, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, June was preceded in death by four sisters and four brothers.
June says her secret to longevity is, "Faith in God, staying active, and following a good diet."
Calling hours will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday (4-12-24) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.McGonigleFuneralHomeandCrematory.com.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday (4-13-24) in the Church of Notre Dame, 2325 Highland Rd., Hermitage.
Interment: St. Mary's Cemetery, Hermitage.
