June L. Esch

   June (Gott) Esch, 90, formerly of Carmi IL, passed away peacefully on March 18 in her home in Hurricane WV, surrounded by her family. She was born June 1, 1935, in Concord IL. She was the daughter of Roy and Nigel Gott. June married John Robert Esch on December 23, 1953. 

   June was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Nigel Gott of New Haven IL, and her brothers James Gott of New Haven IL, and Thomas Gott of Harrisburg IL. She is survived by her daughters; Deborah Jones of Hurricane WV, Rebecca Wood (Walter) of Woodstock GA and Roberta Esch of Hurricane WV. Grandchildren; Jocelyn Bentley of Milton WV, Walter Wood III (Stephanie) of Cincinnati OH, Elisabeth Ball (Stephen) of Woodstock GA, Coleman Mullins (Amy) of Lesage WV, Megan Engle (Chad) of Austin TX. Great grandchildren; Alec Bentley, Coleman Mullins, Elisabeth Bentley, Garrett Ball, Peyton Ball, Walter Wood IV, and Oliver Wood.

   June retired from Columbia Gas Transmission after 25 years of service. She was a faithful Christian and a member of Redeemer Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Hurricane WV.

   Funeral Services and burial for June (Gott) Esch, 90, formerly of Carmi, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 22, 2026 in the chapel at White County Memorial Garden in Carmi. Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is assisting the family with arrangements.
