June Hovey, 76, of Springfield, died at 6:40 p.m. on Friday, October 1, 2021, at St. John's Hospital.
June was born April 28, 1945, in Benton, IL, the daughter of James and Edith Durham Clark. She married William Hovey on February 5, 1971, in Springfield.
June graduated from Springfield High School. She worked at Old Capital Bank and the Illinois Department of Transportation. She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church. She babysat many children and retired from Shopko. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; twin sister, Jean Atwood; and brother, Jim Clark.
June is survived by her husband, William Hovey of Springfield; son, Michael (Amber) Hovey of Springfield; daughter, Kelly (John) Graichen of Nicholasville, KY; grandchildren, Kaila Rue, Karmen Graichen, Dalton Floyd, Kaitlyn Gulick, and Dakota Hovey; and great-grandchildren, Camden, Rudy, Kale, and Knox; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Private family graveside ceremonies were held at Chatham Memorial Cemetery.
The family is being served by Butler Funeral Home-Chatham, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham, IL.
