June Keim, 85, left this world on March 10, 2025, surrounded by love at her home in Peoria, AZ. Born June Adelle Rustand on June 10, 1939 in St. Paul, she spent most of her life in Bismarck where she met and married Maylan Keim. They were married 59 years until May passed away in 2021. They raised 3 children together. Some of the families' happiest times were spent together at Bue Lake and Lake Sakakawea in North Dakota and Lake Eunice in Minnesota. Upon retirement they made Peoria their permanent home.
June was a kind and generous soul whose warmth and thoughtfulness touched everyone she met. She had a gift for making people feel welcomed, whether delivering a home-cooked meal to a neighbor in need or welcoming newcomers to the neighborhood, June's selflessness was a quiet force of good. She and May were legendary hosts in their Oakbrook neighborhood, throwing countless New Year's parties filled with joy and laughter. Their patio was a cherished spot for happy hour gatherings, and the couple were fixtures at the weekly pool parties, where June's presence lit up the community.
June is survived by 2 of her children: Michael (Sarah) Keim, Fargo, ND; Kelley Keim, Peoria, AZ; three grandchildren: Leah (Bates) Parsons, Matthew (Katherine) Keim, Ellen (Justin) Fannon and 3 great grandchildren. Also survived by siblings: Larry Rustand, Jerry (Liz) Rustand, Keith (Marilyn) Rustand, Tanna (Dennis Smith) Reopelle, Steve Rustand, Vickie Town, sister-in-law Lynda Rustand, brother-in-law Scotty (Barb) Keim and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces, nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband May, her son Jason, brother Leon Rustand, brother-in-law Dave Reopelle, and nephews David Rustand and Lorin Rustand.
A celebration of June's life will be held at Life Church in Peoria, AZ on April 3 at 1:00 with a reception immediately following. June Keim's life was a testament to the power of kindness and connection. She will be deeply missed, but her light shines on in the countless lives she brightened.

I had the privilege to get to know June and her family by being one of her caregivers. I have to say, she was my favorite client and she will be sorely missed. Such a kind soul with a smile that lit up the whole room. It was an honor to help her, spend time with her and get to know what an amazing person she was and always will be!

June was a powerhouse of connectedness in her community. Always welcoming newcomers and caring for neighbors and friends with a generous, loving heart. She will be sorely missed, but her smile and her kindness live on in the hearts and actions of her family and friends. I am glad to have known her even for just a short while, and pray new blessings will come to her family.
