June Mahoney Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Houser-Millard Funeral Directors - Jefferson City on Dec. 9, 2025.
June Mahoney, 87, of Kansas CIty, Missouri passed away December 6, 2025. She was born on December 10th, 1937 in Dover, Tennessee to the late Carl and Elizabeth (Cook) Dortch. She married Michael Mahoney August 3, 1963 and enjoyed 50 years of marriage.
June was a proud graduate of Austin Peay University in Clarksville, Tennessee. A devoted teacher and entrepreneur, she poured her heart into every endeavor she pursued. Her deep affection for young children shone brightly through her years as a beloved pre-school teacher, where her joy, patience, and gentle guidance made a lasting impression on countless families.
Above all, June's greatest passion was being a mother and a Grandma. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to her children, supporting them in every chapter of their lives. Whether serving as a Cub Scout Den Mother, a Girl Scout Troop Leader, or the loudest cheerleader on the sidelines of their sporting events, she was always present encouraging, leading, and celebrating every accomplishment.
Her life was defined by love, service, and unwavering dedication to her family and community. June's warmth and spirit will continue to live on in all those whose lives she touched.
June is Survived by her three children, Carl (Diana Klubek) Mahoney of Oak Grove, Missouri, Ryan (Mignon Marshall) Mahoney of Plantation, Florida and Michelle Mahoney of Kansas City, Missouri; two grandchildren Patrick Mahoney of Fort Myers Florida and Caitlyn (Trae) Bragg of Marion, South Carolina; and many brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her Husband; Michael Mahoney, Parents; Brother; WIlliam Dortch and Sisters; Maxine Unger, Caroline "Frankie" Dortch, Ann Buchanan, and Phyllis Dortch.
