June G. McCombs

June G. (Grubbs) McCombs, 101 years old, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday July 2, 2025.
June was born on October 23, 1923, in South Bend to the late Marion and Eva (O'Dell) Grubbs. Her mother passed away when she was younger and she was raised closely by her stepmother, Hester Grubbs.
She graduated from Central High School and was a homemaker.
June married Howard McCombs Jr. on May 14, 1944, sharing 65 years of marriage before his passing on May 17, 2009.
June is survived by her daughter, Linda Williams, her grandson, L. Edward (Judith) Williams, great-grandchildren; Heather (Allison) Jones, Rachel (Steve) Adams, and Bryan Beaird as well as great-great grandchildren Tyler, Shelby, and Tristan Adams as well as many nieces and nephews.
June was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her siblings, Leonard Grubbs, Jack Grubbs, and Gerald Grubbs.
Visitation for June will be held from 11am-12pm on Saturday July 12, 2025, at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan st. South Bend. A funeral service will begin at 12pm. Entombment will follow at Highland Cemetery, South Bend.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Center for Hospice Care- 501 Comfort Place Mishawaka, IN 46545.
