June Gentry Morris

June Gentry Morris, age 91, born June 1, 1933 - passed May 16, 2025, in Atlantic Beach, Florida.
June worked for L&N/CSX for 42 years. After retirement, she enjoyed 32 years of family visits, travel, hosting Derby parties, Sunday mornings at the Beach Hut, and the laid-back pace of living at the beach. She had a kind, generous heart and loved her family, friends, and any cats that crossed her path. She loved flamingos, snoopy, flowers, reading, music, and organizing. She lived life to the fullest and never met a stranger. She was the strong, independent matriarch of our family and will be missed by all who were lucky to know her. If there are party planning committees in Heaven, she already has one started and when she is finished, she will take a long stroll on the beach to look for beautiful seashells.
She is lovingly remembered by life partner Glen Hammond; her children Kathy McCarty (Roger), Steve Morris (Darlene), and Karen Morris; grandchildren Tina Langdon, Aimee Greenwell, Erik Langdon, Shana Morris, Melyssa Tedder (Thomas), Kara Ray, Lisa Wagers (Will), Stephen Morris; great-grand-children Emily Ritchie, Marisa Riggs (Tristan), Preston Greenwell, Ava Greenwell, Torrie Elfalan, Brittany Elfalan, Gunner Tedder, Peyton Tedder, Carsyn Tedder, Jericho Johnson, Landon Wagers, Rowan Morris, Hadley Morris; great-great-grandchild Kylan Elfalan; Siblings Margie Cox and Clyde Gentry Jr (Vickie).
She was predeceased by her parents; Clyde and Marjorie Gentry; sister Betty Chiles; brothers in law Charles W. Cox Jr. and Charlie Chiles.
A memorial service will be held in Louisville, Kentucky June 28, 2025 at Owen Funeral Home 5317 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40216. Visitation 1pm – 3pm, memorial service 3pm.
