Millbury – June E. Rice, 83, passed away peacefully Monday, April 17th at Care One in Millbury. She leaves two daughters, Kimberly J. Fay-Jones and her wife, Lori Jones of Millbury and Debra A. Couture of North Grafton; a son, Wayne F. Rice and his wife, Cynthia Marquis of Rhode Island; 4 grandchildren; Kerie Couture, Marcie Barron, Jessica Strang, and Amanda Fay; 8 great grandchildren; two brothers, Ronald Carey and his wife, Alice of Leicester, and Joseph Carey of Worcester; a sister, Sharon Rivelli and her husband, James of Leicester; and many nieces and nephews. She was born in Worcester and is predeceased by her parents, Francis H. and Elizabeth M. (Bostwick) Carey, her husband of 54 years, Edward W. Rice, Jr., her son, Edward W. Rice III, six brothers, Frank, Ernest, George, Paul, Gerald, and Dean; two sisters, Phyllis and Arlene, and son-in-law, Steven Couture. Out of all things in her life, June most cherished the time spent with her family and friends. Some of her favorite activities were her many trips to the Big E, Foxwoods, shopping and lunch with Sharon, James and Ronnie. Her favorite pastime was the summers spent camping at Salisbury Beach. June was the type of person who could brighten up your day with her unforgettable smile. She always had a heart of gold and a generous amount of love. Her passing leaves a hole in our hearts but her loving and caring soul will never be forgotten. Calling hours are 5:00pm to 8:00pm Friday, April 21st at Mulhane Home for Funerals 45 North Main Street Millbury. Her funeral service will be held at 10:00am Saturday, April 22nd at the funeral home, burial will follow at Central Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street Framingham, MA 01701.
