June Edwards McDermott Swift, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away at her home on August 12, 2025, in St. George, Utah at the age of 95. She was born in Benton, IL on June 3, 1930, to Orville and Alice Edwards.

June married Donald Richard McDermott on January 23, 1949, in Benton, IL. She married Arnold Grant Swift in Las Vegas, NV on January 15, 1970, and they were sealed for time and eternity in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Los Angeles Temple on August 9, 1988.

June worked in the business world for forty-four years in IL and CA, retiring from Xerox and Loral Corporations in Pasadena, CA in 1992 as a Legal Executive Secretary to corporate attorneys.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Foster Hills Ward in St. George, UT. She served in the Young Women's and Relief Society programs of the Church of Jesus Christ, and performed clerical duties as requested.

She is survived by her children: Gaila Noel Bailey (Marvin), Richard Earl McDermott (Becky), Mark Thomas McDermott, Gregg Alan McDermott (Lauralee); and stepchildren: Arnold Bruce Swift (Cindy) and Michele Bower (Zane).

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Richard McDermott; her present husband, Arnold Grant Swift; mother and father; brothers: Glen Ray Edwards, Harry Neal Edwards, Charles Edwin Edwards, and Bobby Dean Edwards; sisters: Lena Darrel McWhirter, Ina Rose Robertson, Wanda Edwards, and Doris Jean Edwards.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 21 at 10:00 a.m., with a viewing prior from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Foster Hills Ward located at 259 North Mall Drive, St. George, UT. Interment will be held at the Washington City Cemetery located at 300 Park View Dr., Washington, UT 84780.
