WARREN, June Anne age 90, formally of Bridgton ME, passed away Monday March 31, 2025, surrounded by family. She was pre-deceased by the love of her life and husband of 59 years George Warren, also of Bridgton ME.
Born to parents Michael and Cora Sirios Flaherty of Madison ME on May 12, 1934. She enjoyed spending time with her father, going fishing or out to his wood lot. June would bring him his lunch pail when he was working at the mill. She adored her father and some secretly smiled, knowing she did not like to share him. One of her most treasured childhood gifts was a paperboy's bicycle he gave her; she rode that bike everywhere with her friends. June was a child during the Great Depression and spoke of her mother teaching her to make pie crusts and a meatloaf. Her first job was earning 25 cents an hour babysitting, which she added to her 75 cent allowance each week.
June was head majorette in high school and won awards for typing and shorthand writing. She was an accomplished piano player and would sit to play songs for her family. She grew up gracefully in an era when not every household had a TV, women were first starting to wear jeans, Saturday afternoon was for trips to the movies, Elvis was on the radio and kids were swimming on Memorial Day.
June fell in love with George as a teenager and she always knew they would get married. Above all else, she was the proudest of her family, especially her children. Alongside the love of her life, she raised ten children with the kind of love dreams are made of. She was particular about her style and especially her hair and makeup; June insisted her children be pressed and dressed in their Sunday best for church. Everything was always neat and clean in the home that June made.
June was an amazing cook and made room for everyone at her table. What started with a young wife serving many meatloaf meals, grew into perfectly set Thanksgiving tables, blueberry muffin recipes, the warmth of hot apple pies, fresh cinnamon rolls (a grandkid's favorite), and the sacred meat pie recipe handed down through five generations from her grandmother. When her children were young, they would choose between attending church with their father or cooking a homemade breakfast in the Gorham Country Club kitchen with their mother.
She was a woman of strong faith who would always put family first. June's love, smile and laughter echo the hearts of generations. In June's words, "the key to a successful marriage is marrying the right person and hope they don't change too much".
June is survived by her sister Gloria Rolfe and her husband Earl of Madison ME, brother Fredrick Flaherty, and her children; Joseph Warren and his wife Aris, Deborah Hoy and her husband Eric, Katherine Walker and husband Pete (pre-deceased), Michael Warren and his wife Darlene, David Warren and his wife Sandra, Daniel Warren and his wife Beth, George Warren and his wife Ruth, John Warren and his wife Melissa, Fredrick Warren, and youngest daughter Mary Warren-Libby and her husband Beau; grandchildren; Shawn, Shayna, Johnathan, Bryan, Erin, Roberts, Brett, Nathan, Justin, Kimberly June, Kelly, Kevin, Jesse, Steven, Danielle, Jessica, Jeremy, Jennifer, Joseph, Jason, Jacob, Joshua, John, James, Joel, Brianna, Aleah, Jeffrey, Hannah, Katie, Evan, Tucker, Caitlyn and Jacob; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours with the family will be held from 5:00 PM -7:00 PM on Wednesday April 9, 2025 at the Windham Chapel of Dolby, Blais, and Segee Funeral Home located at 434 River Rd. Windham, Maine 04062. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday April 10, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church located at 919 Roosevelt Trail Windham, ME 04062.
