Junior Coffman

Junior Coffman, age 79, of Hopper, died Thursday, June 2, 2011, at his home. He was born on March 1, 1932, at Hopper, the son of Gilford Harrison Coffman, Sr. and Dalure Avis Hollifield Coffman. On December 19, 1958, he was married to Nina Norris. He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, Corey Coffman; and his brother, Paul Coffman. Junior was a United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, a member of the Hopper Church of Christ and farmer. He is survived by his wife of 52 and a half years, Nina Coffman of Hopper; two sons, Charles Coffman and P. D. Coffman both of Hopper; three granddaughters, Autumn, Lindsay and Nicole; four siblings, Occo Merritt of Ennis, Texas; Dewey Coffman of Norman, Oklahoma, Connie Wegert of San Antonio, Texas and Portia Short of Russellville; eleven nieces; and ten nephews. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, June 5, 2011, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Edwin Coffman officiating. Visitation will be Saturday evening, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will be in the Hopper Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Army. Pallbearers will be Charles Coffman, P. D. Coffman, Chris Coffman, Clay Coffman, Monty Coffman and Travis Coffman. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
