Junior Lankford, 89, Seneca, passed into eternal rest at 7:20 p.m., Saturday, March 12, 2005, at Freeman Neosho Hospital after an illness.
Junior was born March 29, 1915, in Newton County, the son of Elmer and Lois Lankford. He lived in the Seneca area all his life and owned and operated Lankford's Garage, Seneca. He was a member of the Hottel Springs Church of Christ.
Junior married Laureva Adams on Aug. 10, 1939, in Seneca, and she survives.
Additional survivors include two sons, John Bruce Lankford and Joe Lankford, both of Seneca; one brother, Max Wayne Lankford, Seneca; two sisters, Thelma Faye Widener and Margaret Ruth Kosted, both of Seneca; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and seven great- great grandchildren.
Junior was preceded in death by five brothers, Eugene Lankford, Gilbert Lankford, Cecil Lankford, Phillip Lankford and Elmer Ray Lankford; and one sister, Phyllis Rogers.
Funeral services, under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at the Hottel Springs Church of Christ, with Lawrence Sanders and Troy Risley officiating. Burial will be in the Thompson Grove Cemetery, with grandsons serving as pallbearers.
