Justin David Cawthon

Justin David Cawthon, 20, of Decatur, IL entered his heavenly home, Thursday August 10, 2023.
A service to honor Justin's life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Point Pleasant Cemetery, Long Creek. Memorials may be made in Justin's memory to Called College, 17280 Lakeside Dr., PO Box 620, Carlinville, IL or Project Rescue, PO Box 922, Springfield, MO. Justin was born April 10, 2003, in Decatur, IL the son of David L. and Ami D. (Cole) Cawthon. He was a 2021 graduate of Mt. Zion High School and had been a four-year member of Mt. Zion Swingsations. He had attended Richland Community College and recently was called to become a Youth Pastor and planned to attend Called College in Carlinville, IL. Justin had formerly worked at Taco Bell, Black Iron Coffee Shop and most recently Simply Amish in Arcola, IL. He had been a camp counselor at youth camp and had a passion for leading kids to Christ. Justin also enjoyed being a gun enthusiast as well as a car and truck enthusiast. He was a long-time member of Marantha Assembly of God and a recent member of Discover Church.
Surviving are his parents: David and Ami Cawthon of Decatur; brothers: Ryan Cawthon of Decatur and Mason Cawthon of Decatur; paternal grandparents: David and Diane Cawthon of Decatur; maternal grandparents: Denis and Debbie Cole of Decatur; maternal great-grandmother: Loretta Burns of Mt. Zion; special friends: Faith Hartke of Decatur and Gage Clark of Decatur; many aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
Justin was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandparents: Francis and Dorothy Cawthon, maternal great-grandparents: Hubert and Berniece Cole, and paternal great-grandfathers: Robert Burns and Earl Sparks.
