Justin Mitchell Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cornerstone Funeral Services & Cremations - Birmingham on Feb. 17, 2026.
Celebrating the Life of Justin Fraser Mitchell

Justin Fraser Mitchell was born on November 24, 1992, to Jason and Paula Mitchell.

Justin professed his faith in Christ at an early age at Greater St. Paul AME Church. He later

rededicated his life at New Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr.

Tommy C. Chappell. In August 2025, Justin once again reaffirmed his commitment to Christ at

The Star Church under Dr. Thomas Beavers, where he served faithfully as a member of the

Usher Ministry.

Justin graduated from Shades Valley High School in 2012, where he was an active participant in

the Finance Academy. He went on to obtain his real estate sales and appraisal license, working

within the family business at HUD Home Network. Continuing his pursuit of knowledge, Justin

attended Lawson State Community College, where he earned Dean's List and President's List

honors. He later obtained certification in Heating and Air Conditioning, establishing his career as

a skilled HVAC Technician.

Justin was exceptionally intelligent and had a passion for learning. He loved reading books and,

more importantly, applying what he learned to real life. His grandmother, Carrie Mitchell,

described him best when she said, "Still waters run deep." Justin was a profound thinker, quiet

in nature, yet wise far beyond his years.

In his leisure time, Justin enjoyed playing pool, bowling, video gaming, and most of all, spending

quality time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harrison and Carrie Mitchell, and his

uncle, Clifford Crenshaw.

Justin leaves to cherish his loving memory his devoted parents, Jason and Paula Mitchell; his

sisters, LaQuisha Anderson (Mario) and Ashley Nicole Davis; his brother, Jamal Harrison

Mitchell; his maternal grandparents, Paul Thompson, Jr. and Rosie Thompson; his aunts, Alicia

Mitchell Young (Joseph) and Tanya Thompson (David); his uncles, Brenton Mitchell (Mollie),

Jerrell Mitchell (Toni), Marcus Thompson, and Quinton Thompson (Adelia); his beloved niece,

Alexandria "Lexie" Green; and a host of cousins, extended family members, and dear friends

who will miss him deeply.

Justin will always be remembered for his loving heart, gentle strength, and kind, quiet spirit.
