Kai Glidden, 14, of Wyaconda, Missouri, passed away at the Scotland County Hospital on Saturday, January 17, 2026.

She was born on April 18, 2011, in Joplin, Missouri. The daughter of Nicholas Glidden and Jessica (Bass) Glidden.

Kai was a 9th-grader student at Clark County High School in Kahoka Missouri, where her bright smile and kind heart made every day better for those around her. Kai was very shy and private but once she got to know you, she was at ease with your friendship.

Kai was an obvious artist from a very young age, with art being one of her favorite subjects in school. She started in 5th grade playing the Clarinet. She was excited about band and knowing that Mr. Dooley was her instructor, she quoted “Mr. Dooley takes band serious like I do and he cares”. She looked forward to performing at concerts and marching. She has a collection of cats and bats, which were a few of her many treasures and her favorite color was pink. Kai had a soft spot for animals, and her desire was to be a veterinarian.

Kai is survived by her parents, her step dad JR Scobee of Wyaconda, Missouri, her sister Carson Bass, step brothers Jacob and Hayden Scobee of Wyaconda, Missouri, Grandma Dawn On-The-Hill of Burlington, Iowa, Grandpa and Grandma Orville and Rebecca Bass of Gorin, Missouri, Great Grandma Bonnie White of Washington, Iowa, Great great grandma Carol Thornton of Washington, Iowa, aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Kai is preceded in death by several grandparents, aunts and uncles.

In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions in memory of Kai are suggested to the family to help with expenses and would be greatly appreciated. Memorials may be left or mailed to Wilson & Triplett funeral home 975 East Main Kahoka, MO 63445.
