Kara Bailey Obituary

ST. PARIS – Kara D. Bailey, 60 of St. Paris, Ohio, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2025 in Mercy Health - Urbana Hospital.

She was born on July 5, 1964 in Harris County, Texas, to Wilbur Lee and Mary Marlene (Patterson) Lockerby.

Kara was a proud graduate of Isothermal Community College and dedicated 25 years to her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She loved gardening and reading. Kara was extremely crafty and loved decorating, especially for Christmas time. She cherished every moment spent with her friends. Above all, Kara loved being surrounded by her family, who meant the world to her.

She is survived by her husband, Phillip Ray Bailey; daughters, Tristen Destiny Bailey and Ashley Bailey; son, Nathan (Shonda) Bailey; sisters, Leila and Michella of North Carolina; brother, Kevin (Denise) Lockerby of Florida; grandchildren, Brycen Howard, Wade Bailey, Wesley Bailey, Garrett Bailey and Colt Bailey; uncle, Don (Emma Lee) Patterson of Texas; as well as nieces and nephews, Joshua Lee Lockerby, Michelle (Lockerby) Kramer, and Amber Lee (Lockerby) Jones.

Arrangements have been entrusted to ATKINS, SHIVELY & VERNON FUNERAL HOME, St. Paris, Ohio.

Just heard today about Kara's passing. She was a special person that I'd known since I was a kid&was as much a part of our family as she was a friend. My prayers& thoughts are with you&the family. Gonna miss that laugh of hers
