Karen Marie Christensen

On Monday, November 10, 2025, Karen Marie Christensen, age 83, left this world as she lived in it- with grace, peace, and the love of her family all around her. Karen was born September 26, 1942, in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Elmer and Lora Wagenknecht. She attended school in Farmington, where she met her future husband, Larry Christensen. She graduated in the class of 1960 from Farmington High School. Larry and Karen were married on August 29, 1964. She was blessed with a son, Brian (Kim) Christensen, and a daughter, Brenda (Mark) Dubbels. The joys of her life were her grandchildren: Scott (Taylor), Erik, Anna, and Adam, as well as great-grandchildren: Miles and Liam. Karen has been a faithful member of Farmington Lutheran church since 1964. She enjoyed spending time at her northwoods cabin, reading, enjoying nature, traveling to the Gulf Coast, and, most importantly, spending time with family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Larry. Karen is survived by her children, Brian (Kim) Christensen and Brenda (Mark) Dubbels; grandchildren, Scott (Taylor), Erik, Anna, and Adam; and great-grandchildren, Liam and Miles. She is also survived by her siblings, Darlene (Jerry) Phillippi and Gerald (Naomi) Wagenknecht, along with other loving family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Farmington Lutheran Church, 20600 Akin Road, Farmington, Minnesota. A memorial visitation will take place one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the church.

A private burial will immediately follow the service.
