Karen Elaine Cunningham, lovingly known as "KC," passed away on October 4, 2025, in Windsor, CA, at the age of 72.

Born on February 11, 1953, in Petaluma, CA, Karen grew up in her beloved hometown and graduated from Petaluma High School. She went on to dedicate her career to helping others, working for many years at Valley of the Moon Children's Home, where her compassion and warmth touched countless young lives. In addition to her work, Karen had a deep love for animals and was devoted to training social and comfort dogs, spreading joy and comfort to those in need.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Doris; her step-parents, Leon "Nick" Nicholson and Lenna "Joan" Wilhelm; her brother, James Campbell; and her niece, Melanie Campbell.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Allen Cunningham; her daughter, Jessica Velasquez, and son-in-law, Damon; her grandsons, Gabriel and Samuel; her son, Joseph Greer, daughter-in-law, Dana and granddaughter Chloe. She also leaves behind her brother, Tim Wilhelm, and his wife, Blythe; nephew Jonah and niece Abbey; sister-in-law, Sonja Campbell, and niece Ilona; sister, Karol McCallum, and nieces Elise and Erin; brother, Daniel Wilhelm, and his wife, Sandi, with nephews Ben and Thomas; and sister, Kathlene "Kiki" Armstrong-Starkey, and her wife, Julie, with nephews Justin and Lockelan, and niece Aimie.

A celebration of life will be held at 10:a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025, at Spring Hills Church, 3700 Fulton Rd., Santa Rosa, CA

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Karen's memory to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
