Karen Sue (Chadwick) Dorsey, 84, of Bedford, Texas, formerly of Anita, Iowa, passed away on Monday, July 8th, after a courageous battle with multiple health issues.
Born on November 18, 1939, in Adair, Iowa, Karen was the daughter of Donald and Gladys (Bell) Chadwick. She married Melvyn Dorsey on February 23rd, 1958, in Anita, Iowa, and dedicated 25 years of her career to Motorola.
Karen found immense joy in spending time with her family and friends. She adored playing games with her grandchildren and spoiling them with love. Traveling with her family, tending to her rock garden, setting up the Christmas Village and other Christmas decorations each year were among her greatest pleasures.
Karen is survived by her loving husband, Melvyn Dorsey; her younger brother, Thomas Chadwick; daughters Betty (Mark) Reed and Jody Price (Kevin McCarty); grandchildren Jessi Bartek, Stacy (Robert) Nantz, Katie Price, Jacob Reed, Cory Reed; and great-grandchild Gracie Michon. She is also survived by other cherished family members, including brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Chadwick; mother, Gladys Bell Chadwick Chaney; and step-father, John Chaney.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line, Hurst, Texas.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Anita, Iowa, in August 2024.
